Open pdf in new tab instead of download chrome

 · While disabling the Chrome PDF viewer does open the pdf in adobe, it still opens in a tab. Previously, I viewed the pdf in chrome, if interesting enough, I would download and . One time, I clicked on the options on the bar after downloading something and changed the open location to Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of Chrome. I want to switch back to opening PDFs in Chrome as a new tab, and tried to go to my Advanced settings but it already was off for the download instead of opening in Chrome function.  · i am so sick of chrome automatically downloading files instead of opening them in my browser. a few months back this was not an issue. Now it seems to be a problem with out a plugin? This is ridiculous if it is true. How do i get google to open PDF's etc. in browser?

Hello. I previously posted this in InDesign support but now it's for Acrobat. I followed the advice below (thanks senrab75) to ensure my PDF links - when open in a browser - open in a new tab/window. This worked beautifully in Firefox but not in Chrome or Safari - same for most. This video shows how to configure Windows 10 to open PDF files in Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of Google Chrome. This issue is resolved by changing the file. This extension watches for PDF downloads and automatically opens them in a new tab. Useful for sites like xero which refuse to open PDFs inline and force a download. Enables you to have Adobe Reader as your default PDF application but still have Chrome open PDFs in a new tab when clicking a link.

Change the "Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome" option from the off position (grey) to the on position (blue) Close the Settings tab and restart your computer Firefox. Answer: It is simple. Go to settings and then advanced settings. Now go to site settings and then to PDF documents. In PDF documents, disable ‘Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome’ as shown in figure. Now, chrome will open pdf’s instead of directly downloading them. By default, when you open a pdf file in firefox, it will provide you with a popup to either save the pdf file or to open it directly and there is also a check box which says do this action automatically from now on and guess who selected it.
